I am a PhD student in Computational Linguistics at the Department of Linguistics at Ruhr-University Bochum. My resarch interests include
- (automatic) analysis of non-standard language data, especially
learner data and data from computer-mediated communication
- the German writing system
Currently, I am employed as a research assistant in the project Literacy as the key to social participation: Psycholinguistic perspectives on orthography instruction and literacy acquisition (short “Litkey”, funded by Volkswagen Foundation). In the strand “Corpus Analysis”, we are (semi-)automatically investigating relations between spelling errors committed by German primary school children and the orthographic properties of (mis-)spelled words.
