Venue
KONVENS 2016 will be held in Bochum, Germany, at the ID building of Ruhr-University Bochum.
For your convenience, we compiled a custom map with the main places of interest for the conference:
How to find us
We recommend taking the light rail line U35 to travel to the venue.
- From anywhere in Bochum, take the U35 in direction “Hustadt”. In the mornings, trains go every 3 to 6 minutes.
- Get off at the station “Lennershof”, which is the station that comes after “Ruhr-Universität”. You can also get to the building from the “Ruhr-Universität” station, but it takes longer and we won’t post any signs on this route.
- Exit the station, turn left and walk straight to the end of the street (through a small residential area).
- At the end of the street, turn right. The big, white building in front of you is the ID building.
- Enter the building and walk straight to the other end of the hall. Turn left after the reception to find the rooms of the conference.

Arriving by bus
If you go by bus, you will most likely arrive at the “Ruhr-Universität” station. From there, walk across the bridge towards the campus, then keep to the left and watch out for signs to the “I” buildings. The ID building is the very last building in this row.
We strongly suggest you use the campus map (to the right) for orientation!
Arriving by car
Please check the university’s website for maps and detailed information on how to reach the venue by car:
In particular, please use one of the many official parking lots in the vicinity, and do not park your car in the neighboring residential area.
Wi-fi
There is eduroam access in all rooms, and free wi-fi logins will be available upon request.
