Prof. Dr. Eva Belke

Eva Belke is Professor for Psycholinguistics at the Department of Linguistics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Her work focuses on two lines of research: In the first one, she works on lexical retrieval processes across the lifespan and in healthy and impaired speakers. In the second one, she investigates, from a psycholinguistic perspective, language learning and methods of language teaching for children at pre-school and primary school age, particularly those who acquire German as a second language. She has graduated in Clinical Linguistics/Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Bielefeld (Germany), from where she also obtained a PhD in Psycholinguistics. Before coming to Bochum, she spent three years as a post doc and a lecturer in Birmingham (UK) and three years at the University of Bielefeld, where she completed her habilitation.

Sarah Kuba

After finishing her Masters degree in Linguistics and German Philology at Ruhr-University Bochum in 2013, Sarah Kuba worked as a dyslexia therapist for two years. Since 2015 she has worked as a research fellow at the Department of Linguistics at Ruhr-University Bochum in the Litkey project. Her main research interests are early literacy acquisition, language teaching, language processing and the underlying processes in reading and written word production in children. Her PhD project is focused on implicit acquisition of grammatical structures in preschoolers.
